Tacos Mexicana(Crispy Potato Tacos)


  Mexican Recipes are like tacos,quesadillas,tortilla wraps which had the fillings made of minced meat,veggies,sauces,cheese,etc.Taco Mexicana(Crispy Potato Tacos) is one of the Mexican recipe made of homemade tacos loaded with potatoes.Here I share the recipe that I have tried.

The snacks can be of two types fried snacks and non fried snacks.The non fried snacks are the snacks prepared by steaming,mixing,baking some ingredients with less oil or without using oil. Info about Key Ingredients:

Potato is one of the key ingredient used in this recipe. Potatoes are one of the vegetables used by peoples all over the world. We can cook some delicious foods like french fries,chips,tikki,curry/gravy,samosa,etc., using this potato. It it a excellent source of Vitamin C which helps to boost our immunity.It also helps in good sleep.Here I share some links of the recipes made of potatoes that already included in this blog.


Recipe Overview:

In this Post I share the recipe Taco Mexicana(Crispy Potato Tacos). First we prepare usual chapathi/roti dough for making tocos.Make chapathies and toast it.Then we made the potato filling by adding the seasoning.Assemble the tocos and swallow fry in oil.We get a yummy healthy snacks for evening tea/coffee.Come on lets see the ingredients required and step by step instructons of this recipe.

Method:

Ingredients:

For Dough:

Wheat Flour 2 Cup.
Oil 2 Tsp.
Sugar 1/4 Tsp.
Water for Kneading the Dough.
Salt to Taste.

For Potato Filling :

Potato 4 Nos.
Coriander Leaves Few.
Black Pepper 1/2 Tsp.
Red Chilly Flakes as Required.
Chaat Masala 1/2 Tsp.
Salt to Taste.

For Assembling and Frying :

Tomato Sauce as Required.
Mozzarella Cheese as Required.
Black Pepper Powder as Required.
Red Chilly Flakes as Required.
Oil for Frying.

Step By Step Instructions:
  • For preparing dough,take a wide bowl,add wheat flour,sugar,oil,salt and water.
  • Mix it well and knead it to form a soft dough.
  • Make small balls and roll it as like chapathies.
  • Heat the tawa and toast it both sides 30 secs each without adding oil.
  • Now our tacos shells are ready.Keep it aside.
  • For preparing fillings,boil potatoes and grate it.Transfer it into a mixing bowl.
  • Add black pepper powder,chaat masala powder,red chilly flakes,salt and few coriander leaves to it.
  • Mix it well.Now our potato filling is ready.
  • Now its time for assembling for that take a taco shell.
  • Spread the tomato sauce over it.
  • Now add the potato filling on one half side of the toco.
  • Add mozzarella cheese over it.
  • Add some more black pepper and chilly flakes.
  • Fold the other half side.
  • Heat a tawa.Add little oil for frying.
  • Place the taco over it and fry on both sides until it becomes crispy.
  • Now our Tacos Mexicana(Crispy Potato Tocos) are ready.Enjoy it with tea/coffee.


Pictorial Description:

For making dough,add wheat flour,salt,sugar,oil in a wide bowl.


Add required water and knead it to form a soft dough.

For filling,boil potatoes.


Grate it well.


Add black pepper powder,chaat masala powder,red chilly flakes and salt.


Add few coriander leaves to it.


Mix it well.Now filling ready.


For assembling.Take a taco shell,spread the tomato sauce.


Add the potato filling to one half.


Add mozzarella cheese to it.


Add pepper powder,red chilly flakes.


Fold it.


Heat the tawa and add some oil for fry.


Place the toco on the tawa and fry one side.


Flip it out once done and fry until crispy.


Now our Tacos Mexicana(Crispy Potato Tacos) is ready.Enjoy...

There are so many chutney varieties that are cooked all over the world to accompany with different food. In India,mostly the  chutney varieties   are like coconut chutneys, garlic chutney,pudina(mint) chutney,tomato chutney,imli(tamarind) chutney,etc., served with idly,dosa,vada,pakoda,fritters,etc., Here I shared the links of some of the chutney varieties in this blog.

Coconut is the key ingredient used in this recipe.In Kerala,Coconut plays a major role in making dishes. Coconut controls the functioning of thyroid glands. It also improves brain functioning. It plays major role for boosting immunitiy power.Coconut can also be used for skin as well as hair care.We can intake coconut by itself,coconut milk,coconut oil.Using coconut we can do many breakfast recipes,curries,snacks,etc., Here I share the links of some of the recipes that are made with coconut.

In this Post I share the recipe Simple Red Coconut Chutney. First we grind coconut along with some ingredients into fine paste.Prepare seasoning and pour over the chutney.Served with idly,dosa,etc.,

Grated Coconut 1 Cup.
Dry Red Chilly 3 to 5 according to your spiciness.
Garlic Cloves 2 Nos.
Asafoetida(Hing) 1/4 Tsp.
Salt to Taste.
Water as Required.

For Seasoning/Tempering:

Coconut Oil 2 Tsp.
Dry Red Chilly 1 No.
Urud Dal 1 Tsp.
Mustard Seeds 1 Tsp.
Curry Leaves Few.

Step By Step Instructions:
  • In a mixie jar add grated coconut,dry red chilly,garlic cloves,asafoetida(hing) and salt.Add required water and grind it into smooth paste.
  • Transfer it to a serving bowl.
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan,season with mustard seeds,dry red chilly,urud dal and curry leaves.
  • Pour the seasoning over the chutney.
  • Now our Simple Red Coconut Chutney is ready to serve with Idly,Dosa,Vada,etc.,

Ladyfinger Raitha(Ladyfinger Pachadi)


 

Ladyfinger Raitha(Ladyfinger Pachadi) is one of the sidedish made of ladyfinger and curd.This side dish becomes a great combination of spicy dishes.Here I shared the recipe that I have tried.

Ladyfinger is the key ingredient of this recipe.Ladyfinger conatains neccessary amount of vitamins and minerals that helps in good eyesight,healthy pregancy,digestion,weight loss.It contains high fibre content,so that it can reduces constipation. It also improves immune system. The decoction of ladyfinger helps in treating cold,cough and fever.Here I include the links of the ladyfinger recipes that I already in this blog.

In this Post I share the recipe Ladyfinger Raitha(Ladyfinger Pachadi). It is one of the simple and best sidedish for briyani,sambhar rice,pulav,puliogare,etc., First we fry onion along with some seasonings.Then we add ladyfinger along with spice powders and fry.Cool it down.Add required curd and serve.

Method:

Ingredients:

Ladyfinger(Finely Chopped) 100gms.
Onion(Finely Chopped) 1 No.
Thick/Hung Curd as required.
Green Chilly(Finely Chopped) 1 or 2 Numbers.
Turmeric Powder 1/4 Tsp.
Cumin seed 1 Tsp.
Mustard seed 1 Tsp.
Urud Dal 1 Tsp.
Oil oil 2 Tbsp.
Salt to Taste.

Step By Step Instructions:
  • Chop the vegetables as mentioned.
  • Heat oil in a pan and season with mustard seeds,cumin seeds,urud dal. Add curry leaves
  • Add green chilly.Fry it well.
  • Add onion and fry it for 1 minute.
  • Add ladyfinger and fry it well until the stickiness goes out.
  • Add the turmeric powder,salt and fry it well until the raw smell goes out.
  • Transfer to the serving bowl and cool down.
  • Add the required curd to it,mix it well and serve.
