Pizza in Dosa


Pizza is an Italian Dish which is made up of wheat flattened bread topping with some  sauce,cheese,veggies,chicken,meat,etc.,baked under high temperature. Here I am made that Pizza using Dosa Batter and sauces,Veggies and Cheese.

Here I Shared the recipe of mine that I have tried. 

Ingredients:

Dosa Batter    2 Full Ladle(Batter needed for 2 Dosa). For Recipe Click the Link.
Pizza Sauce or Tomato Ketchup    2 Tbsp.
Grated Cheese as Required.
Onion Slices as Required.
Capsicum Slices as Required.
Tomato Slices    as Required.
Black Olives    as Required.
Italian Seasoning or All Purpose Seasoning    as Required.

Note: You can also made your own Topping as you wish like Mushrooms,Sweet Corn, Chicken etc.,

Method:
  • Heat the Dosa Tawa and Pour 2 full ladle of batter and make a round shape.
  • Add  some Pizza Sauce on it and spread using spoon.
  • Add some Grated Cheese to it.
  • Arrange the Veggies on it and add some more Cheese.
  • Sprinkle the Italian Seasoning and drizzle some Oil.
  • Cover with lid and cook until the Cheese Melts.The flame must be low.
  • Now our Pizza Dosa is ready.
  • Gently remove it from Tawa and Serve.

Prawn Thokku


Thokku recipes are the most popular recipes of Tamilnadu.

Here I share the Prawn Thokku recipe followed by my mother.

Ingredients:

Prawn    1/2 Kg.
Onion    2 Nos(Finely Chopped).
Green Chilly    2 Nos(Finely Chopped).
Tomato    2 Nos(Finely Chopped).
Ginger Garlic Paste    3/4 Tsp.
Red Chilly Powder    1 Tsp.
Turmeric Powder    1/4 Tsp.
Coriander Powder    2 Tsp.
Fennel Seeds(Saunf)    1/2 Tsp.
Mustard Seeds    1 Tsp.
Oil    2 Tsp.
Curry Leaves    Few.
Salt to Taste.
Coriander Leaves for Garnishing.

Method:
  • Devain and Wash the Prawn.
  • Chop the required Vegetables.
  • Heat Oil in a pan(I'm using my mud pot.), season with Mustard Seeds,Fennel Seeds,Curry Leaves.
  • Add Onion and Green Chillies and fry until onion turns soft.
  • Add Ginger Garlic Paste to it fry until raw smell goes out.
  • Add Tomatoes and required Salt to it and fry until Tomatoes mash.
  • Add all the spice powder and fry until raw smell goes out.
  • Add required water and boil it.
  • Add the prawn to it and mix well for 2 to 4 minutes.
  • Garnish with Coriander Leaves.
  • Serve with Rice.

Idly/Dosa Batter


Idly and Dosa is of one of most popular dish of South Indian Cuisine. To make Idly/Dosa we want to prepare a batter and allow to ferment.

Ingredients:

For Large Quantity:

Idly Rice or ParBoiled Rice or Pulungal Rice    5 Cups.
Urud Dal(I use Splited Urud dal)    1 Cup. 
Fenugreek Seeds(Methi) 1 Tsp.
Salt    3 Tsp.
Water needed for Grinding.

For Small Quantity:

Idly Rice or ParBoiled Rice or Pulungal Rice  3 Cups.
Urud Dal(I use Splited Urud dal)    3/4 Cup. 
Fenugreek Seeds(Methi) 1/2 Tsp.
Salt    1 1/2 Tsp.
Water needed for Grinding.


Note: Add little amount of water for grinding. The Batter must be thick for Idly.

Method:
  • Take the Urud Dal,methi and Rice in seperate bowls.
  • Add Water and Soak it for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Wash and Drain the Urud Dal.
  • Put the Urud dal,methi in the grinder(here i use my wet grinder) and grind to a smooth paste.


  • Collect it in deep bottom vessel.
  • Wash and drain the Rice.
  • Put the Rice in the grinder and grind to a smooth paste.
  • Collect it in the same vessel.
  • Add salt to it and mix well.
  • Cover it with a lid and allow it to ferment for 8 hours or overnight.
  • After fermented the batter looks like this.
  • Mix it well.
  • Take a container pour the required batter for Idly.
  • Add some water to the remaining batter. The consistency must be like this.
  • Transfer it to another container for dosa.
  • Now our Idly and Dosa batter is ready.
  • Store in refrigerator.We can use this batter for upto 4 to 5 days.
