Neer Adai:An Easy and Healthy Snacks


 Neer Adai is one of the traditional and healthy snacks in our place made of urud dal.Here I share the recipe followed by My Mother.

Urud Dal is a high protein content dal which gives many beneficial for women. It also contains iron,folic acid,calcium,magnesium,potassium which is used to boost the health of pregnant women. Using urud dal we can make so many dishes like idly/dosa,vada,kanji,urud dal rice, kali, makhani, etc., Here I share the links of some of the recipes that are cooked using urud dal.


Rice is one of the important food stable of countries like India,Japan.One of the major content of rice is protein,one cup of rice contain 4grams of protein. Rice contains the vitamins and minerals that helps in bone health. Many varieties of food can be prepare by using rice in different form like flattened rice,puffed rice,rice flour, etc., Here I share the links of some of the recipes that are cooked using various form of rice

Recipe Overview:

In this Post I share the recipe Neer Adai:An Easy and Healthy Snacks. First we soak and grind urud dal take it in a bowl.Then we add rice flour,fenugreek,coconut,salt to the paste and mix well.Afterwards we make small balls and shape it as like vadas.Next We Boil water in a wide vessel,put the vadas in it and cook both sides.Now our Neer Adai is ready,serve with Idly Milagai Podi(Gun Powder).

Ingredients:

Splited Urud Dal 1 Cup.
Fenugreek Seeds(Methi) 1 Tsp.
Rice Atta 2 Tbsp.
Grated Coconut as Required.
Water as Required.
Salt to Taste.

Step By Step Instructions:
  • Soak Urud dal for 1 hour.Soak fenugreek seeds(methi) for 10 minutes.
  • Wash and grind the urud dal into a coarse paste without adding water.
  • Transfer it to a bowl,add fenugreek(methi),rice flour,grated coconut,salt and mix it well.
  • Make small balls,flat and shape it as like vadas.
  • Boil water in a wide vessel. Add the vadas into it and cook both sides.
  • Now our Neer Adai is ready.Serve with Idly Milagai Podi(Gun Powder).


Pictorial Description:

Soak urud dal for 1 hours.Soak fenugreek for 10 minutes.


Wash and transfer the urud dal into a mixie jar.


Grind it into a coarse paste without adding water.


Transfer it to a bowl.


Add fenugreek seeds.


Add rice flour.


Add grated coconut and salt.


Mix it well.


Make small ball.


Flat it.


Put a hole in the center as like vada.


Repeat it.


Boil water in wide vessel.


Put the vada shaped dough in it and cook one side.


Flip it out and cook another side.


Once done,take it out.


Now our Neer Adai is ready.Serve with Idly Milagai Powder(Gun Powder)
