Urud Vada(Ulundhu Vadai)
Urud Vada(Ulundhu Vadai) is one of the popular snacks of South India made of Urud Dal Batter.

Ingredients:
Urud Dal 1 Cup.
Onion 1 No(Finely Chopped).
Carrot 1 Small Piece(Grated).
Green Chilly 1 or 2 Nos.(Chopped).
Ginger 1 inch(Grated).
Curry Leaves Few(Chopped Finely).
Coriander Leaves Few(Chopped Finely).
Asafoetida(Hing) 1/4 Tsp.
Salt to Taste.
Oil for Frying.
Method:
- Take one cup of Urud Dal and soak for 1 hour.
- After 1 hour wash and drain the water and refrigerate it for another 1 hour.
- Chop the Vegetables as mention above.
- After 1 hour transfer the Urud Dal to a Mixie Jar.
- Grind it to a fine paste. Important grind it without adding water and stir it in between.
- Transfer the batter to a mixing bowl.
- Add all the Chopped Vegetables,Asafoetida(Hing)and Salt to the batter.
- Mix it well.
- Heat the Oil for frying.
- For making Vada: Dip your hands in water, Take some batter in the right hand and make a ball then place it in the left hand. Now put a hole in the centre. Then put it in the hot oil.
- Flip it out and deep fry till it turns golden brown color.
- Take it out and put it in the Oil Strainer.
- Serve Hot Vadas with some Chutney,Sambhar.
