Mint Coriander Chutney is one of the simple and perfect chutneys that can be served for dosa/idly/vada. Here I share recipe that I have tried.

There are so many chutney varieties that are cooked all over the world to accompany with different food. In India,mostly the  chutney varieties   are like coconut chutneys, garlic chutney,pudina(mint) chutney,tomato chutney,imli(tamarind) chutney,etc., served with idly,dosa,vada,pakoda,fritters,etc., Here I shared the links of some of the chutney varieties in this blog.

Info about Key Ingredients:

Coriander Leaves is the key ingredient used in this recipe. Coriander leaves has many health benefits.This can control the blood sugar.It contains antioxidiant which helps in boosting the immune system of our body.It also helps in skin health.We can use coriander leaves mostly for gravies other than we can consume as juice,chutney,pakoda,pulav,etc.,Here I share the links of some of the recipes that are made with coriander leaves.


Mint(Pudina) is another key ingredient used in this recipe.Mint is a natural mouth freshner which relief from bad breath.Mint contains anti inflammatory helps in relief from throat congestion.It also boost our immune system.It helps in good digestion.We can easily add mint in any gravies,pulav,chutney,smoothies,juices,etc., 

Recipe Overview:

In this Post I share the recipe Mint Coriander Chutney. First we fry and cook onion,tomato,coriander leaves,mint leaves along with spice powders.Then grind it into paste.Prepare seasoning and pour over the chutney to it and cook.Served with idly,dosa,etc.,

Ingredients:

For Chutney Paste:

Coriander Leaves(Roughly Chopped) 1 Bunch.
Mint Leaves(Roughly Chopped) 1 Bunch.
Onion(Roughly Chopped) 1 No.
Tomato(Roughly Chopped) 2 Nos.
Green Chilly 1 or 2 Nos.
Garlic Cloves 6 to 9 Nos.
Turmeric Powder 1/4 Tsp.
Red Chilly Powder 1 Tsp.
Coriander Powder 1/4 Tsp.
Urud Dal 1 Tsp.
Coconut Oil 3 Tsp..
Salt to Taste.

For Seasoning/Tempering:

Coconut Oil 2 Tsp.
Mustard Seeds 1 Tsp.
Curry Leaves Few.

Step By Step Instructions:
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan.Seasoning with urud dal.
  • Add onion,garlic,tomato,green chilly.
  • Add turmeric powder,red chilly powder,coriander powder,salt and fry it well until raw smell goes out.
  • Add coriander leaves,mint leaves to it and fry for 1 minute.
  • Turn off the stove and cool down completely.
  • Transfer to the mixie jar and grind it into fine paste.
  • Heat coconut oil in the same pan.Season with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Add the grinded chutney to it and cook it for 2 minutes.
  • Now our Mint Coriander Chutney is ready to serve with Idly,Dosa,Vada,etc.,

Pictorial Description:

Add the chutney paste.

Boil it for 2 minutes.

Now our Mint Coriander Chutney is ready to serve for idly/dosa.
