Restaurant Style Aloo Mutter Gravy


Aloo Mutter is one of the popular of North Indian Cuisine which is usually served with roties,chapathies,parathas.Here I shared the Aloo Mutter recipe in restaurant style.

There are so many curry/gravy varieties that are cooked all over the world to accompany with different food. In India,mostly the  curry/gravy varieties   are like chutneys, masalas, dal, sambhar, kulambu served with rice,idly,dosa,roti, chapathi, paratha, naan,etc., Here I shared the links of some of the curry varieties in this blog.

Potato is one of the key ingredient used in this recipe. Potatoes are one of the vegetables used by peoples all over the world. We can cook some delicious foods like french fries,chips,tikki,curry/gravy,samosa,etc., using this potato. It it a excellent source of Vitamin C which helps to boost our immunity.It also helps in good sleep.Here I share some links of the recipes made of potatoes that already included in this blog.


Peas/Mutter is another key ingredient used in this recipe. Green Peas contains nutrients that controls blood pressure. We can put mutter in any gravys,pulavs,kichadi,snacks,etc., Here I share the link that I included in this blog using peas.


Recipe Overview:

In this Post I share the recipe Restaurant Style Aloo Mutter recipe. It is one of the simple gravy that we cook in minimium time.First we soak the peas and pressure cook it.Then we grind tomato,ginger,garlic and green chilly to a fine puree.Then we prepare the base gravy by sauting onion,puree along with spice powders. Now we add the aloo and mutter to it and pressure cook. Now our Aloo Mutter is ready. Lets see the ingredients required and the detailed step by step instructions for making this recipe.

Ingredients:

Potato(Aloo)(Roughly chopped) 4 to 5 Numbers..
Peas(Mutter) 1 Cup.
Onion(Finely Chopped) 2 Number.
Tomato(Roughly Chopped) 3 Number.
Green Chilly 1 or 2 Nos.
Ginger 1 Inch.
Garlic 5 to 6 Cloves.
Besan(gram flour) 1 Tbsp.
Turmeric Powder 1/4 Tsp.
Kashmir Red Chilly Powder 1 Tbsp.
Coriander Powder 1 Tbsp.
Garam Masala Powder 1/2 Tsp.
Cumin Powder 1/2 Tsp.
Cumin(Jeera) 1 Tsp.
Asafoetida(Hing) 1/4 Tsp.
Ghee 2 Tbsp.
Sugar 1/4 Tsp.
Salt to Taste.
Water as Required.
Coriander Leaves for Garnishing.

Step By Step Instructions:
  • Soak the mutter for 3 hours or overnight.Pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistle and keep it aside.
  • Chop the veggies as mentioned.
  • In a mixie jar,add tomato,ginger,garlic,green chilly and blend it to puree.Keep it aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.Season with cumin(jeera) and asafoetida(hing/kaayam).
  • Add onion to it and fry it well until it turns golden brown.
  • Add besan(gram flour) to it and fry until aroma comes out.
  • Add the tomato puree we prepared already to it and fry it well until it forms a gravy
  • Add turmeric powder,kashmir red chilly powder,coriander powder,cumin(jeera) powder and fry it well.
  • Add the chopped aloo(potato) and boiled mutter(peas) to it and fry.
  • Add salt and sugar.Mix it well.
  • Add water and pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistles.
  • After releasing pressure,add garam masala powder and boil it for 1 minute.
  • Garnish with Coriander Leaves.
  • Now our Restaurant Style Aloo Mutter is ready. Serve with Rice,Roti,Chapathi,Naan,etc.,

Pictorial Description:

Soak mutter(peas) for 3 hours or overnight.

Pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistles. Keep it aside.

Chop the veggies as mentioned.

Blend it into a fine puree.Keep it aside.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and season with cumin(jeera) and asafoetida(hing).

Add onion and fry it until golden brown color.

Add besan(gram flour) to it and fry until the aroma comes out.


Add the grinded tomato puree.


Fry it well until it forms a gravy state.


Add turmeric powder,kashmir red chilly powder,coriander powder,cumin(jeera) powder to it.


Fry it well until the raw smell goes out.


Add chopped aloo(potato) and boiled mutter(peas) to it.


Fry for 1 minute.


Add salt and sugar.


Add some water.


Pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistle.


After pressure release,add garam masala powder to it.


Boil it for 1 minute.


Garnish with coriander leaves.


Now our Restaurant Style Aloo Mutter is ready.Serve with roti,chapathi,parathas,etc.,
