Mushroom Matar(Green Peas) Gravy


Mushroom Gravy is one of the popular and favourite dish all over the world.This Dish can be cooked in different styles.Here I shared this Mushroom Gravy along with Matar(Green Peas).

There are so many curry/gravy varieties that are cooked all over the world to accompany with different food. In India,mostly the  curry/gravy varieties   are like chutneys, masalas, dal, sambhar, kulambu served with rice,idly,dosa,roti, chapathi, paratha, naan,etc., Here I shared the links of some of the curry varieties in this blog.

Info about Key Ingredients:

Mushroom is one of the key ingredient used in this recipe. Mushrooms are the fungi family fruits that can cooked in a variety of ways. It contains some amount proteins and fibres,the antioxidant named Selenium which helps to develop our immune system. It also contains Vitamin B6 which helps in Brain Development.


Green Peas is another key ingredient used in this recipe. Green Peas contains nutrients that controls blood pressure.


Recipe Overview:

In this Post I share the recipe Mushroom Matar(peas) Gravy. First we prepare masala paste.Then for gravy we fry onion,tomato along with some seasoning.Add the spice powders. Then add mushroom,peas and boil.Finally we add the masala paste and boil.Garnish with Coriander Leaves. This Dish can be the served with chapathi,roti,naan,etc.,

Ingredients:

Mushroom(roughly chopped) 200 gms..
Green Peas 1 Cup.
Onion(Roughly Chopped) 2 Number.
Tomato(Roughly Chopped) 2 Number.
Shallots(Sambhar Onion)(chopped) 5 to 10 Numbers.
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 Tsp.
Grated Coconut 1/2 Cup.
Cashewnuts 10 to 15 Numbers.
Turmeric Powder 1/4 Tsp.
Red Chilly Powder 1 Tsp.
Coriander Powder 1 Tsp.
Garam Masala Powder 1/2 Tsp.
Mutton Masala Powder 1 Tbsp.
Maggi Magic Cubes(nonveg) 1 Cube (Click To Buy).
Fenugreek Seeds(Methi/Venthayam) 1 Tsp.
Urud Dal 1 Tsp.
Cumin(Jeera) 1 Tsp.
Mustard Seeds(Rai/Kadugu) 1 Tsp.
Oil 2 Tbsp.
Salt to Taste.
Water as Required.
Curry Leaves Few.
Coriander Leaves for Garnishing.

Step By Step Instructions:
  • First we prepare masala paste. In a mixie jar,add grated coconut,cashewnuts and grind it into a smooth paste.Keep it aside.
  • Heat Oil a pan.Season with mustard,urud dal,cumin,fenugreek seeds.
  • Add green chilly and curry leaves.
  • Add onion and shallots together and fry.
  • Add ginger garlic paste to it and fry it well.
  • Add Tomato to it and fry it well until it forms a gravy.
  • Add turmeric powder,red chilly powder,coriander powder,garam masala powder and fry it well.
  • Add green peas and mushrooms to it and fry.
  • Add mutton masala powder and fry.
  • Add water and boil it for 5 minutes.
  • Now add the paste,mix it well and boil for 2 minutes.
  • Add 1 cube maggi magic cubes(non veg) and boil it for 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with Coriander Leaves.
  • Now our Mushroom Matar(Peas) Gravy is ready. Serve with Rice,Roti,Chapathi,Naan,etc.,

Pictorial Description:

In a mixie jar,take grated coconut and cashew nuts.

Grind it into a smooth paste.

Chop all the Vegetables.

Heat oil in a pan. Season with mustard,urud dal,cumin,fenugreek seeds

Add green chilly and curry leaves.

Add onions and shallots together.Fry it well.

Add ginger garlic paste and fry it well.

Add tomatoes.


Fry it well until it becomes gravy.


Add turmeric powder,red chilly powder,coriander powder,garam masala powder and salt.


Fry it well.


Add matar(green peas).


Fry for 30 seconds.


Add mushrooms


Fry it for 30 seconds.


Add mutton masala powder to it.


Fry for a minute.


Add required water.


Mix it well.


Boil for 5 minutes.


Now add the coconut paste and boil for 2 minutes.

Add one cube maggi magic cubes(nonveg) and boil for 2 minutes.

Now our Mushroom Matar(Green Peas) Gravy is ready.Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve with roti,chapathi,parathas,etc.,
