Instant Urud Dal Murukku/Chakli By Raji's Smart Kitchen "Cook Food in a Smart Way".


Murukku/Chakli is one of the famous fried snacks of India.The people of India cook this snacks for festivals like Diwali. This Murukku/Chakli can be made as prasad/offerings to Krishna Janmashtami. This Murrukku can be made in different ingredients. Here I Share the Murukku/Chakli recipe made of Urud Dal and Rice Atta that I have tried.

Usually on Krishna Janmashtami we prepare Paal Payasam as sweet prasadam and also it is one of the favourite for Lord Krishna.Then I thought about what we made for savoury prasadam I got an idea of making murrukku.Usually murukku can be prepared by roast and powder the urud dal and rice.But I have no time to do that because I want to go to my kid's school for checking his academic activity.So I prepare murukku instantly by grinding cooked urud dal and adding some rice flour.I got a super tasty instant murukku with awesome taste in less time.
Apart from prasad,murukku is one of our favourite tea time snacks.We usually dip murukku in tea and eat which gives a different taste.We also make a snacks by grinding leftover murukku and mix with grated coconut and sugar which gives awesome taste.Try this snacks also if you have murukku.Come on lets see the required ingredients and the step by step instruction for this recipe.

Preparation Time: No Pre Preparation Required. Cooking Time: 30 Minutes Serving: 4

Ingredients:

White Urud Dal 1/2 Cup.
Rice Flour/Atta 2 Cups.
Ghee 1 Tsp.
Black Sesame Seed(Black Till/Karupu Ellu) 1 Tsp.
Asafoetida(Hing) 1 pinch.
Salt to Taste.
Oil for Deep Frying.


Step By Step Instructions:
  • Pressure cook 1/2 cup of white urud dal for 1 whistle.
  • Strain and grind it into a fine paste.
  • Transfer it to a bowl.
  • Add sesame seeds,rice flour/atta,ghee,salt,asafoetida and mix it well.
  • Knead it to form a dough by sprinkle little water.
  • Fill the dough in the idiyappam/sev press by putting the star achu.
  • Heat Oil for deep frying.
  • Press the dough gently into the hot dough in what shape you want.
  • Fry it on both sides till golden brown.
  • Now our Murukku is ready. Serve it with Tea/Coffee.

Pictorial Description:

Take 1/2 Cup of White Urud Dal.


Wash and pressure cook for 1 whistle.


Strain the leftover water.


Transfer it into a mixie jar.


Blend it into a smooth paste without adding water.


Transfer it into a mixing bowl.


Add black sesame seeds.


Add rice flour/atta.


Add 1 tsp of ghee.


Mix it well.


Sprinkle some water and knead to form a soft dough.


Put the star achu/mould into the idiyappam/sev press.


Fill the press with dough.


Heat the Oil for frying.


Press the dough into the Oil of any shape as your wish and fry on both sides until golden brown.




Now our Urud Dal Murukku/Chakli is ready. Serve with Tea/Coffee.


Note:

You can directly press the dough in the oil while frying,if it not convenient for you can press the dough on the back of the strainer spoon and dip it directly into the oil.
Cook the murukku in medium flame until it becomes crispy.If you fry in high flame,then the murukku turns into brown and are not cooked well inside.

Serving Suggestions:

This murukku can be served as prasad as well as tea time snacks.
