Healthy Black Chick Peas(Black Chole) Salad


 Salads are one of the common dish arround the world.Here I share the salad recipe made Black Chick Peas(Black Chole) which I have tried.

Recipe Overview:

In this Post I share the recipe Healthy Black Chick Peas(Black Chole) Salad.For that we boil the black chickpeas.Then add salad dressing ingredients to it and mix well.For plating we add some veggies along with chick peas.Mix and serve.

Ingredients:

Black Chick Peas(Black Chole) 1 Cup.
Grated Ginger as Required.
Coriander Leaves as Required.
Coconut Oil 2 tsp.
Black Salt 1/2 Tsp.
Salt to Taste.

For Plating:

Chopped Onion as Required.
Chopped Tomato as Required.
Chopped Cucumber as Required.
Chopped Carrot as Required.
Chopped Curry Leaves as Required.
Sesame Seeds 1/2 Tsp per Plating.
Amchur Powder 1/4 Tsp per Plating.

Step By Step Instructions:
  • Soak black chickpeas for minimum 2 hours or overnight.
  • Pressure cook it for 7 to 10 whistles.
  • Strain the leftover water.Add grated ginger,coriander leaves,coconut oil,black salt and salt to it.Mix it well.
  • For plating,add chopped onion,tomato,carrot and cucumber in the serving plate or bowl.
  • Add the chick peas mixture to it.
  • Add chopped curry leaves,pepper powder,sesame seeds,amchur powder and mix it well.
  • Our Healthy Black Chick Peas(Black Chole) Salad is ready to serve.

Pictorial Description:

Soak the black chick peas(black chole) overnight.


Pressure cook it for 7 to 9 whistles.


Chop the vegetables as mentioned.


Strain the leftover water in chick peas


Add grated ginger,chopped coriander leaves,coconut oil,black salt,salt to it.


Mix it well.


For plating,add chopped onion and tomato in the serving bowl/plate.

Add chopped cucumber and grated carrot to it.


Add the chick peas mixture to it.


Add chopped curry leaves to it.


Add sesame seeds and pepper powder to it.


Add amchur powder to it.


Mix it well.


Now our Healthy Black Chick Peas(Black Chole) Salad is ready to serve.


Note: You can also add few moringa leaves(drumstick leaves) and pomegranate seeds to it.

Bhatura Without Using Yeast.


Bhatura is one of the popular dish in Indian which can be served with chole masala. Here I share the recipe of how to make Bhaturas without using yeast.

There are so many breakfast/dinner varieties that are cooked all over the world to accompany with different food. In India,mostly the  breakfast/dinner varieties  are like idly,dosa,roti, chapathi, paratha, naan,idiayappam,puttu,kichadi,etc., Here I shared the links of some of the breakfast/dinner varieties in this blog.


Recipe Overview:

In this Post I share the recipe Bhatura. First in a mixing bowl add maida,rava,curd,sugar and salt. Add some water and knead it to a soft dough. Cover and left it for 1/2 an hour. Make the dough into small balls and roll it. Heat oil for frying. Put the bhaturas into it and fry on both sides. Now our Bhatura is ready. Serve with Chole Masala.

Ingredients:

Maida 1 Cup.
Rava 2 Tbsp.
Curd 1 Tbsp.
Sugar 1 tsp.
Salt to taste.
Water as Required.
Oil for Frying.

Step By Step Instructions:
  • In a mixing bowl,add maida.
  • Add rava.
  • Add curd.
  • Add sugar and salt.
  • Add little water,mix and kneed it well to form a soft dough.
  • Cover and leave it for 1/2 an hour so that the dough soaked well.
  • Make the dough into small balls.
  • Roll it out in oblong/circle shape. Now our bhatura is ready to fry
  • Heat the oil for frying.
  • Put the bhatura into the oil and fry it out on both sides.
  • Transfer it to the plate and serve with Chole Masala(Click for Chole Masala Recipe.).

Add rava to it.


Add salt and sugar to it.


Add curd to it.


Mix and knead it well to form a soft dough.


Cover and leave it for 1/2 an hour.


Now our dough is soaked well.


Make it into small balls.


Roll it out in oblong/circle shape.Our bhatura is ready to fry.


Heat oil for frying.


Put the Bhatura in the oil.


Fry it on both sides.

Chole Masala


Chole Masala is one of the most popular recipe of Indian Cuisine made of Boiled Channa and some spices is the perfect sidedish for Chapathi,Poori,Bhature,Appam.

Ingredients:
Channa 1 Cup.
Onion    3 Nos Finely Chopped.
Tomato    2 Nos Finely Chopped or Pureed.
Green Chillies    2 Nos Chopped.
Ginger Garlic Paste    2 Tsp.
Turmeric Powder    1/4 Tsp.
Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder    1 Tsp.
Coriander Powder    1/2 Tsp.
Garam Masala    1/2 Tsp.
Cumin or Jeera Powder    1/4 Tsp.
Dry Mango Powder or Amchur Powder    1/4 Tsp.
Chole Masala    1 Tsp.
Kasturi Methi or Dry Fenugreek Leaves    Few.
Fresh Cream    1 Tbsp.
Curry Leaves    Few.
Mustard Seed or Kaduku or Rai    1 Tsp.
Jeera or Cumin    1Tsp.
Oil    1 Tbsp.
Sugar 1/4 Tsp.
Salt to Taste.
Coriander Leaves for Garnishing. 
    
Method:
  • Soak the Channa for 3 to 4 hours or overnight.
  • Pressure Cook the Channa for 7 whistle.

  • Finely Chop the vegetables as needed.
  • Heat oil in a pan and season with Mustard(Rai) and Cumin(Jeera).
  • Add the finely chopped Onion and fry for a while.
  • Add the Curry Leaves and Green Chillies to it.
  • Fry the Onion until golden brown color.
  • Add the Ginger Garlic Paste and fry until raw smell goes off.
  • Add the finely chopped or pureed Tomatoes to it.
  • Add the Salt and Sugar.
  • Fry them until oil comes out.
  • Add all the Spice Powders except Chole Masala.
  • Add the Kasturi Methi to it.
  • Fry until the raw smell of the spice powder goes out.
  • Now add the Boiled Channa to it without wasting the water.
  • Add the Chole Masala to it and mix well.
  • Now add the required water and boil it until oil comes out.
  • For more richness or restaurant style add 1 Tbsp of Fresh Cream and boil it for 1 minute.
  • Garnish with Coriander Leaves.
  • Serve it with Hot Chapathies, Bhature, Phulkas, Poories, Appam,etc,.
